Man uses artificial intelligence to bring back his deceased bride

The result was frighteningly realistic.
Joshua Barbo from Canada used artificial intelligence (AI) to create a chatbot that mimics his fiancée Jessica Pereira. She passed away eight years ago from a rare liver disease, but Joshua could not get over it, so he decided to take this step.
He used a little-known website called Project December, which had something to do with artificial intelligence and chatbots. There was little information about him, but the site intrigued him, and the price of $ 5 per account was fine.
In fact, this resource used one of the most powerful and modern models of artificial intelligence, GPT-3, developed by the OpenAI research group Elon Musk. With her help, Joshua managed to teach the bot to conduct a conversation as his beloved would do. To do this, he used old posts and provided some background information. The result was frighteningly realistic - the programmed bot could mimic Jessica with amazing precision.
The artificial intelligence model GPT-3 uses huge amounts of human-generated text data - it can be emails, chat rooms in instant messengers, and even posts on Reddit. Technology is learning to mimic communication styles for everything from academic articles to love letters.
This may seem like a new episode "Black mirror”, However, the creators of OpenAI have long warned that such AI could be too dangerous. This model can be applied not only to inoffensively maintaining a conversation, but also to fuel massive disinformation campaigns.
More about the previous version of the technology, GPT-2, the developers wrote that attackers could use it to automate the “offensive or fake social media content ”,“ create misleading news articles ”or“ impersonate others in Internet ".
For this reason, access to the more advanced GPT-3 model has always been limited, but the creator of the Project December site, Jason Rohrer, managed to open it to the masses. He himself used borrowed credentials for this to beta test the technology. Now his site offers not only the creation of his own chat bots, but also a number of ready-made ones, each with a special style of communication. For example, it already has its own Shakespeare and assistant Samantha - the one that was in the movie "She" with Joaquin Phoenix.
Experts believe that GPT-3 technologies will eventually make it harder for humans to recognize text, images, videos and emails created by artificial intelligence.
