The novelty surprises with both characteristics and price.
Apple unexpectedly released its MagSafe power bank - as the name suggests, it has a magnetic mount for fast wireless charging on iPhone 12 series smartphones.
The capacity of the novelty was modest 1,460 mAh (7.62 V). For comparison, the iPhone 12 mini, 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max are equipped with 227, 2 815, 2 815 and 3 687 mAh batteries, respectively. Simply put, if for users of the younger model such a power bank will still be useful, then a completely dead iPhone 12 Pro Max will charge about half.
Judging by the description, Apple offers to use the new product as an alternative to standard MagSafe charging: although in normal mode the powerbank gives out only 5 W, when it is connected to a power adapter of 20 W or higher, the charging power of the smartphone rises to 15 Tue
Like the new revisions of the iPhone, the new powerbank comes without a charging adapter and cable included. Apple recommends using at least a 20W adapter and USB ‑ C to Lightning cable for charging.
In the US, the novelty will go on sale on July 19 at a price of $ 99. In Russia, this external battery will cost 9 490 rubles, the release date is still unknown.
