Opera desktop version received big update codenamed R5. In it, the developers have added a number of functions that make everyday use of the browser more comfortable. Below are the main improvements.

• There is a convenient picture-in-picture mode for video conferencing in Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The popup brings the video out of the tab and saves it on top of other pages. This happens automatically when you switch to another tab. It is possible to make the floating window transparent.

• The tab with an active video call is now marked with a red stripe to make it easier to find. If you forgot about the tab that uses the computer's microphone, Opera will remind you of it.
• Those who are lost in the sea of ​​open pages and browser windows can now use the CTRL + spacebar keyboard shortcut to enable search for a tab by keyword. And if you have synchronized browsers through your Opera account, then the search will also show tabs open on your other devices.

• Added Pinboards feature, which is a virtual content board. It allows you to collect websites, images, links and notes in a convenient format and share all this collection with other users, regardless of their device and browser.

• Opera has long offered convenient access to Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube in a feature "Player" on the sidebar, and now users can also connect Deezer, Tidal, SoundCloud and Gaana. In addition, the playback control interface has been improved when you hover the cursor over the player buttons.

• The look of the browser has been improved with a set of new wallpapers specially designed for this update. The developers have made sure that all system settings correspond to dark and light themes.
