Life hack: how to buy less
Miscellaneous / / July 31, 2021
Marketers are constantly improving techniques that force us to buy more than we need every day. But you can give up spontaneous or unplanned spending without feeling any discomfort.
Rent, don't buy
We need many things rarely or for a short period of time. For example, the first car seat is usually designed for babies under the age of one year, and a powerful hammer drill is needed only for a couple of weeks of repair.
Such things are more profitable to rent than to buy. When they are not needed, you do not have to waste time and effort selling them or cluttering up the balcony and closet.
Ask neighbors or friends
Friends can lend you the thing you need, sell it cheaply, or exchange it for what they need. As a result, everyone wins.
This applies not only to children's things or tools. For example, in Europe and the USA, parties are popular where people come to exchange clothes that have become oversized or tired.
Choose quality
A solid item will cost less in terms of the number of days or episodes of use. It will last longer and will not refuse at the most inopportune moment, which means that you do not have to urgently look for money to buy a replacement.
This rule can be applied to a wide variety of products, from shoes to food. In addition, low-quality things do not bring joy: shoes are rubbed or torn, clothes are covered with pellets, food remains in the refrigerator and is thrown away at the end of the expiration date.
