Autonomy should increase at least for basic models.
On the Chinese social network Weibo appeared details on the battery capacity of the four iPhone 13 models expected to be announced this fall. An insider with a link to certification data was shared by the Digital Chat Station tech blog.
Batteries for all new products:
- iPhone 13 mini - 2 406 mAh;
- iPhone 13 and 13 Pro - 3,095 mAh;
- iPhone 13 Pro Max - 4 352 mAh.
For comparison, here are the capacities of the current models:
- iPhone 12 mini - 2,227 mAh;
- iPhone 12 and 12 Pro - 2,815 mAh;
- iPhone 12 Pro Max - 3,687 mAh.
According to the source, all four smartphones will receive high-capacity batteries, but it is too early to draw conclusions about an increase in battery life. If the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max come with 120Hz displays that consume a lot more energy, it is possible that their operating time without recharging will remain the same or change insignificantly.
But the mini and the base model iPhone 13 are unlikely to increase the refresh rate of the display, so in their case the autonomy can really increase. This will be facilitated not only by an increase in the capacity of the battery, but also by equipping it with a more energy efficient processor.
