From June 1, "Google Photos" introduces a limit on photo uploads

If you haven't transferred all the photos from your smartphone camera to Disk, it's time to do it.
From June 1 (Tuesday), new rules will apply to Google Photos - all uploaded photos and videos will take up space on your Google Drive, which only provides 15GB of storage for free. This was announced back in November 2020.
Previously, "Google Photos" offered two options for uploading images: "high quality" and "original". In the first case, the photos were compressed by the algorithms of the service and were not taken into account on Disk, and in the second, the original images were loaded, which already took up space in the cloud. Now, for all files, the same rules will apply, with which you will have to take a more responsible approach to downloading pictures from a smartphone. The same goes for videos.
It is important to note that all “high quality” photos uploaded before June 1 will still not take up Disk space. This means that until May 31, inclusive, you can still upload media files to the cloud without losing free space. You just need to open the application on your smartphone and start synchronization.
When you fill up 15 GB of Disk, you can subscribe to a paid Google One subscription at a price of 139 rubles per 100 GB. You can find out how much space you have free now, and what exactly takes up the most memory, you can on page subscriptions.
If you want to prevent photos and videos from your smartphone's camera from uploading to Google Photos and eating up space in the cloud, turn off auto-upload. To do this, open the application, go to settings and disable the "Startup and sync" option. This way all photos and videos will be stored only on the mobile device.
