To do this, use the design feature of the beacons.
If you don't feel like splurging on official mount accessories AirTag (which in the Apple Store are more expensive than the tracker itself), it is quite possible to make a hole in them and stretch a thread to use the beacon as a keychain. it proved user of the MacRumors forum, attaching as confirmation a photo of his drilled beacon - which, according to the author, works without problems.
Further, this trick was repeated by the iFixit experts in their article about the maintainability of the novelty. They warned that before work, you need to remove the battery from the beacon, and a mistake in choosing a drilling location could lead to damage to the device.
The fact is that the insides of AirTag are located rather compactly, and there are only three “pockets” in which you can safely drill holes - one of which the experts managed to get into.
Of course, when drilling a through hole, the AirTag loses its water resistance. But this option solves this problem by filling the hole with special glue - and it looks more elegant.
