Break tasks down into steps in a convenient app to get things done.
In an effort to achieve something more, every day we take on heaps of projects, work hard, but at the same time sink into the routine, losing strength and motivation to move on. The Selfplan developers suggest combating this with careful planning, methodical prioritization and focusing only on what is really important.
The app is based on the so-called 1-3-3 principle, which is a slightly modified 1-3-5 rule. The essence of the method lies in step-by-step planning and breaking down everything conceived into global and small tasks that will bring you closer to achieving goals. Important features are a seven-to-do limit so you don't get overwhelmed by trifles, and progress tracking to keep you satisfied with the work done.
Secret 1-3-3 is to set one priority, three commitments or promises, and three additional goals that "make the day, week, or month even better."
It all starts with formulating a plan. These are big goals, which you intend to implement in the next 2-3 months. Then, monthly tasks are created on their basis, and then according to the same principle - weekly and daily tasks. As a result, you will get a sequential action plan, by fulfilling which you will achieve what you want.
The seven-to-do rule applies to month, week, and day lists. The main task is always displayed at the top of the list and is marked in red, commitments follow and are marked in orange, and additional goals are at the bottom and are not highlighted by markings.
To add tasks, you just need to enter them in a line with one priority or another by moving to the "Month", "Week" or "Day" tab. For monthly and weekly goals, you can set a deadline, make a note, additional steps. There are more opportunities in daily tasks: there are deadlines, approximate time to complete, reminders, notes and a link to a global goal in the main plan.
Swipe down to open the calendar. The dots of the corresponding colors in it show the scheduled tasks. Touching a specific date switches to the selected day and displays to-do listand swipes to the sides allow you to move between months. You can also use swipe gestures to control tasks: mark, delete, move, or duplicate.
In the overview of the current day, in addition to the to-do list, Selfplan shows the time to complete each scheduled item and how many hours are left until the end of the day. This helps to navigate when handling turnover and allows you to adequately assess your capabilities.
The overall progress of the scheduled tasks is shown as a percentage at the top of the screen. It changes when tasks are completed depending on their importance. At the end of the day or the next day, you can evaluate your productivity. And then take on new things.
There is definitely a rationale to this approach to planning. If you take on only those tasks that will bring you closer to the intended goal, and move even in small steps in their direction - sooner or later you can to achieve success.
The idea for Selfplan is quite interesting, although its implementation is not perfect. There are bugs in the application. For example, you cannot change the due date of an already assigned task due to the lack of a save button. And the names of the months when switching with swipes do not change until the date is selected, which makes it difficult to navigate the calendar.
During the seven-day trial period, the application can be used for free, then you will have to purchase a subscription for 999 rubles per year. Besides the iPhone, Selfplan is also available on iPads and Apple computers with an M1 processor. For lovers of the classics, there is a paper version in the form diary for half a year.
