Inside, an improved processor and a 5,000 mAh battery.
Without an official presentation, Xiaomi added pages of two new state employees to the official website: Redmi A2 and A2 +. As you can guess from the names, these are the heirs of last year's Redmi A1 and A1+.
There is only one difference between the models: the plus version received a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel, otherwise the characteristics are identical to the usual one.
From the first generation, the 6.52-inch HD+ LCD screen is retained, but the 4-core Helio A22 processor has been replaced with an 8-core Helio G36, which should increase performance. In a small notch in the display, there is a 5 MP front camera, an 8 MP main camera is complemented by an LED flash.
Redmi A2 runs on pure Android 12 (Go Edition) without MIUI interface. The manufacturer promises two years of security updates, so in terms of firmware, buyers should expect a Go version of Android 13 at best.
The amount of RAM depends on the modification (2 or 3 GB), built-in memory 32 GB with the possibility of expansion. Triple card tray: can accommodate two SIM cards and a TF card with a capacity of up to 1TB.
Both versions of Redmi A2 received 5,000 mAh batteries with up to 10 W charging.
Smartphones will be available in blue, light green and black colors. The price and release date have not yet been disclosed, but Redmi A1 cost 6,499 rupees at the start (≈ 6,000 rubles). Given the minimal differences between generations, a similar price should be expected for these new products.
