Are statuettes so important for filmmakers? Discussing the film awards in the new issue of "The Watchman"
Miscellaneous / / April 21, 2021
It's always nice to get the coveted trophy, but this is far from the main goal for filmmakers.
The Oscar has been awarded annually in the United States since 1929. Members of the Film Academy award the award to the best, in their opinion, directors, screenwriters, actors, composers - everyone involved in filmmaking. Spectators and the creators of the paintings themselves are looking forward to this event with impatience. However, not everyone is enthusiastic about the awards - for some, the recognition of the public is more important, and not of any specific group of experts.
In this episode, the hosts of the podcast Alexey Khromov and Mikhail Volnyh talk about the importance of film awards, trying to figure out how much politics influences the final decision of cinema experts, and also discusses everyone's favorite anti-award "Golden Raspberry" and its favorites in 2021 year.
