What the new OnePlus Watch is criticized for
Miscellaneous / / April 13, 2021
The main thing from the first reviews.
Today, several major publications have published their reviews on OnePlus Watch - the first smartwatches of the popular brand, submitted by in late March. In addition to the obvious shortcomings such as the lack of an Always On screen and contactless payment (despite the presence of an NFC module), the authors were unhappy with many aspects of the gadget.
Rarely does a flagship device fail at any of its tasks, but the OnePlus Watch does. While I was testing the watch, literally everything went wrong. Every activity was tracked incorrectly. The watch went to sleep when I was awake. The pedometer lied for more than 10 thousand steps. I changed the system to imperial, but at times it still displayed metric.
When I sat down to write this review, I wondered if it might be too harsh to call this smartwatch the worst ever made. After all, they are good at delivering notifications. And then my wrist buzzed with the rage of thousands of angry bees when I received 40 email notifications at the same time that they sent me 4 hours ago. It cannot be overstated how bad they are. —
GizmodoThe 46mm OnePlus Watch is big enough. They look awkward on my small wrist. The single size of the bracelet also turned out to be large: in my case, it wraps around the arm in almost two full layers. It looks like OnePlus doesn't offer alternatives because it believes everyone should have giant hands. — GSMArena
In the interface, it is difficult to immediately understand from which application the notification came: all the icons are unified and in the same color scheme. And if you swipe away a notification on your watch, it doesn't disappear from your smartphone - and what's even more annoying is that notifications deleted from your smartphone continue to appear on your watch.
The user interface looks unfinished, many animations seem out of place. Even if you are a OnePlus fan, I advise you to wait for the second generation - I hope at least it can restore my trust in the brand. — Wired
While the OnePlus Watch is similar to many other smartwatches, it is not comparable to the competition in terms of features, is only available in one size and has quite a few bugs. Yes, they have great autonomy - but that's because they are less capable than other watches. I'd say it's more of a fitness tracker in a watch case - which could have worked if they were better at handling fitness tracker tasks. — The verge
