Why Instagram notifications aren't coming and how to fix it
Miscellaneous / / April 03, 2021
It is enough to look into the application settings on your smartphone.
Why Instagram notifications aren't coming
There may be several reasons.
- Notifications are disabled or Do Not Disturb is activated. In this case, you will not receive any messages at all, not only from Instagram.
- Notifications are disabled for Instagram only. Perhaps you accidentally slid the desired switch in the settings shade.
- Changed the notification settings in the Instagram app itself. They can be returned to their original state, and notifications will start coming again.
- Instagram stops running in the background due to your smartphone's power saving settings. The application will have to be added to the exclusion list so that the system does not close it.
- Alerts do not come due to crashes in the Instagram app or service. This can be corrected by rearranging the program.
- There are problems with the internet or the system. Check if you are connected to a mobile network or Wi-Fi and restart your smartphone.
What to do if Instagram notifications don't arrive on Android smartphone
1. Open the Instagram app, go to your profile by clicking on your photo at the bottom right. Then click on the menu icon at the top right and select the "Settings" option.
2. Open "Notifications". Make sure the "Suspend All" switch is off. Then go through the following items: "Posts, stories and comments", "Subscriptions and subscribers", Messages to Direct, Live & IGTV and From Instagram and turn on those notifications that you are needed.
3. Open Android settings and find the "Notifications" section there. Go through the list of apps and find Instagram there. Click on it and make sure notifications are turned on.
4. Open the shutter with the switches on the top and make sure that you do not have the modes "Do not disturb", "Silent" and "Energy saving".
5. If it doesn't help, restart your smartphone. If this does not lead to anything, delete Instagram and reinstall it.
6. The last point is relevant only for MIUI. Open Settings → Power & Performance → Activity Sense. Find Instagram in the list and click on it. Then select the "No Limitations" option.
