We have updated Lifehacker. Now it looks even better and works faster - see for yourself!

We are talking about the changes that we have been working on recently.
Home page
We started experiments with the main page last year: the tiled arrangement of articles was replaced by the ribbon. It looked good, but the number of posts on the screen that the user sees has dropped significantly. We release more than 20 articles every day and we want all of them to get enough attention from readers, so we decided to go further.
We combined all our past experience: we made a compact tape (one of our kind was once available at a special address) and diluted it with accent cards. Now the number of materials on the home page has increased by default, and the home page itself has become lighter and faster. We also added a few small visual tricks that made the page a little more fun.
The top menu again occupies two lines, there are even more headings in the "hamburger", and the full headings can be seen on special page.
Inner Pages
Articles now also look a little different. We've created three basic templates: with sidebars on the left and right, with sidebars on the right, and no sidebars at all. The choice of this or that template for the article remains at the discretion of the editors.
All styles of text, frames, tables, links and other elements have completely changed. We have developed new font pairs for headings and body text. Tidied up the color palette and many interface elements. As a result, we got a single set of styles for the entire site, which will facilitate the further development of our products.
Pay attention to the optimized add to favorites interface: now you can immediately place an article in any previously created folder. Or create a new one right on the spot. Now it is available only for site users, but soon the functions will appear in the mobile application (yes, this time it is really soon).
That which cannot be seen, but can be felt
The life hacker is still working on WordPress, but a separate web application is now responsible for rendering the site. This has already accelerated the loading of pages, and in the near future we plan to make it even faster.
Alexey Ponomar
Lifehacker's publisher.
This is the fifth global site update in the last 10 years. Surprisingly, we still use some solutions from ten years ago. With gratitude I appeal to everyone who has ever participated in the development of Lifehacker: the current release was made possible also thanks to your contribution in the past.
What we have presented to our readers today is the result of hard work over the past year and a half. A lot of people took part in this project: product managers, designers, developers, QA, editorial, sales department. We all gained invaluable new experience and knowledge, began to better understand our own product, and most importantly - each other.
Team, thanks, you are cool.
That's all. But we will still find something to surprise you soon - we promise! In the meantime, we will be glad to hear your opinion about the new design in the comments.
