With the release of iOS 4.2 and iTunes Apple smartphones remotely learned to play videos on Apple TV. So today I would like to teach readers MakRadara convert movies and videos so that they are compatible with AirPlay and well with the look.
Apple specification allows the use of MPEG4 codec or H.264, but we will focus on the latest version. Also, for video conversion, I recommend to take a free and cross-platform Handbrake application.
To process the files you will need the following settings:
- Video codec: H.264
- Video Bitrate: 5442 kbit / s (for HD-video fit any value between 5000 and 6000) or 2124 kbit / s (for a normal video, suitable values between 2000 and 2250)
- Video Resolution: 1280 × 720 (for HD-Video) or 640x480 (for normal video, although it approximately)
- The number of frames per second: 30 or less
- Audio codec: AAC
- Audio Bitrate: 160 kbit / s
- Sampling frequency: 48 kHz or 44.1
After downloading and install Handbrake need to select any file, open the Picture Settings (via the toolbar or the item Window> Picture Settings menu) and set the correct resolution. I have at hand there was only an ordinary video clip:
Now in Video tab, set the video bitrate:
Next Audio settings set the correct parameters sample rate, audio codec and bitrate:
We can only add to all all video files (Add to Queue), which we would like to convert, and click on the Start button.
By the way, for those owners of Mac, which does not want to deal with deep, though uncomplicated, settings, I can recommend a simple and free video converter Evom. He, however, there is a small problem - he can not change the size of the video. And there is a good alternative for Windows users in the form of Any Video Converter.
