Samsung introduced the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 5G

Samsung officially presented an updated version of the foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Flip. It received the 5G prefix in the name, which indicates the emergence of support for fifth generation networks, although this is not the only change.

The top-end Snapdragon 865+ processor, the most powerful solution from Qualcomm, provided new communication capabilities to the smartphone. The amount of memory remains the same: 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in. The battery capacity has not changed either - there are still the same 3,300 mAh with 15W charging.

The main folding screen has an AMOLED-matrix with a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 2 636 × 1,080 pixels. Outside, there is an additional 1.1-inch display for alerts and notifications from within apps. The case colors of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G differ from first model - now instead of black and purple, copper and gray options are available.

In terms of cameras, physical dimensions and other characteristics, everything is unchanged. The price of the updated model was $ 1,450 (≈103,000 rubles) versus 1,380 for the original (≈98,000 rubles). The smartphone will go on sale in the US on August 7.
