Xiaomi presented two new Ultrabooks in India - Mi NoteBook 14 and its more advanced Horizon Edition. Both got 14-inch displays and 10th-gen Intel processors, but their hardware and design are different.
Mi NoteBook 14
The standard model received an Intel Core i5-10210U processor, the video card depends on the version: Intel UHD 620 or Nvidia GeForce MX250. The amount of DDR4 RAM is 8 GB. The 14-inch display has FHD resolution and anti-reflective coating. Due to the small bezels around the screen, there is no room for a webcam, so a separate Mi Webcam HD is included in the package.
The battery capacity is 46 Wh - this should be enough for about 10 hours of battery life. A 65 W adapter is used for charging, which will replenish 50% of the battery in just half an hour. In terms of connectors, Xiaomi remains quite generous: on the right are USB-C, two USB 3.1, HDMI and a charging port. On the left side there is a 3.5 mm audio jack and USB 2.0.
It was not without a couple of branded chips: for example, Mi Blaze Unlock technology allows you to use to unlock laptop Mi Band, and Mi Smart Share provides fast file exchange with Xiaomi smartphones (analogue of AirDrop from Apple). The laptop comes with Windows 10 Home preinstalled and you get a month of Office 365 subscription.
Prices for all modifications are already known:
- 1901-FC (Intel Core i5, UHD 620, 8 GB DDR4, 256 GB SATA SSD) - 41,999 rupees (≈38,270 rubles);
- 1901-FA (Intel Core i5, UHD 620, 8 GB DDR4, 512 GB SATA SSD) - 44,999 rupees (≈41,000 rubles);
- 1901-DG (Intel Core i5, MX250, 8 GB DDR4, 512 GB SATA SSD) - 47,999 rupees (≈43,730 rubles).
The novelty weighs 1.5 kg - like last year RedmiBook 14. The choice of the buyer is offered versions with 256 and 512 GB SSD-drive.
Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition
In the basic version, you get the same Intel Core i5-10210U processor with Nvidia GeForce MX350 graphics, but you can pay more and get a Core i7-10510U. Although the display on this model is the same, the bezels around it are significantly smaller and are only 3 mm. Thanks to this, the screen-to-body ratio reaches 91%, and the weight of the laptop is reduced to 1.35 kg.
The amount of RAM here, like the younger model, is 8 GB, but the SSD-drive supports the new NVMe standard (PCI Express interface). This provides faster read and write speeds. Other specifications, including connectors, charging and proprietary functions, are identical.
The prices are as follows:
- 1904-AR (Intel Core i5, MX350, 8 GB DDR4, 512 GB SATA SSD) - 54,999 rupees (≈50,110 rubles);
- 1904-AF (Intel Core i7, MX350, 8 GB DDR4, 512 GB NVMe SSD) - 59,999 rupees (≈54,670 rubles).
Both new items will go on sale in India on June 17, the company has not yet announced an international release.
