Sobyanin extended self-isolation in Moscow until May 31

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin officially extended in the capital, the regime of self-isolation and restrictions on the spheres of public catering, culture, sports and other non-production sectors until May 31. However, some restrictions will still be removed. Here are the main changes that await Moscow residents from May 12:

• Industrial and construction enterprises will be able to return to work. In particular, the construction of roads, schools, kindergartens and other facilities necessary for the city will be resumed.
• Only those workers can return to their jobs if their presence in workshops, offices and construction sites is necessary for technological reasons.
• Workers with chronic illnesses and pregnant women should not go to work. The presence of persons with fever and signs of acute respiratory viral infections is strictly not allowed.
• The use of masks, respirators or other respiratory protection, and gloves will compulsory in shops, shopping centers, as well as when traveling by any type of public transport and Taxi.

• The sales network for masks and gloves will be expanded. In addition to pharmacies and shops, they can be purchased at the stations of the Moscow metro.
• Previously issued work passes will be automatically extended until May 31. The mode of obtaining new passes will remain the same.
• Restrictions on the work of trade enterprises, public catering, services, culture, education, sports and other non-manufacturing industries will remain until May 31.

Students are also waiting for changes:

• Secondary schools will have to submit annual grades for the 2019/2020 academic year by May 15.
• Distance classes from May 18 to May 31 for students in grades 1-8 and 10 will be free attendance. There will be no homework or grades.
• Students in grades 9 and 11 continue distance learning until May 31.
• The format and timing of the exams will be announced later.

As the mayor clarified, this is only First step exit from quarantine. How quickly Moscow and Russia as a whole will move to the second stage depends on the epidemic situation.
