In the Geekbench benchmark database discovered the results of the yet to be announced Apple A14 processor. It will be used in the flagship iPhone 12 - and, apparently, will allow smartphones to bypass the current iPad Pro in terms of performance.
Benchmark also notes that the A14 will be clocked at 3.1GHz.
- Single-core test: 1,658 points;
- Multi-core test: 4,612 points.
For comparison, here are the results of the Apple A12X used in the iPad Pro:
- Single-core test: 1 110 points;
- Multi-core test: 4,568 points.
Although Apple introduced the A13 Bionic processor for the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro, the A12X remains the most powerful in the company's lineup - tablets on it. comparable in terms of power with a MacBook Pro with Intel Core i7. Probably, Apple engineers managed to achieve new successes due to the use of 5-nm technical process from TSMC (current A13 built on a 7-nm process technology) and increasing the clock frequency - it looks like we are waiting for the most overclocked mobile chip based on ARM.
It should be noted that such tests measure only the basic capabilities of the processor and video card and do not always correspond to the real experience of using the device. Nevertheless, at least in theory, we are expected to improve - and live iPhone tests have always demonstrated a high level of performance and smooth operation even with comparing with smartphones that have many times more RAM.
It is expected that Apple A14 will be used not only in the new iPhones, but also in the iPad Pro 2020, which should be presented in the near future.
