ZTE, which owns the Nubia brand, has unveiled the new Red Magic 5G smartphone. Like predecessor, it is aimed at fans of mobile games. The device received top-end features and an original design of the back cover, which in one version is completely transparent.
Nubia Red Magic 5G is equipped with a 6.65-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2340 × 1080, HDR10 + support and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Responsible for the performance is the mobile Snapdragon 865 chip, supplemented by a 5G modem. The amount of RAM is 8.12 or 16 GB. Internal memory can be installed 128 or 256 GB. In the AnTuTu benchmark, the smartphone scored more than 640,000 points, making it a new record holder.
The device does not overheat under load, thanks to the active cooling system, which blows hot air through the grill on the side end. The cooler operates at speeds up to 15,000 rpm. It can be viewed in the version of the device with a transparent back cover.
The battery has a capacity of 4,500 mAh and supports 55W fast charging via the USB Type-C port. With the included power adapter, Red Magic 5G charges 56% in just 15 minutes, and a full 100% charge can be reached in 40 minutes.
The main camera of the smartphone received sensors of 64 megapixels, 8 megapixels (wide-angle) and 2 megapixels (macro). A 16 megapixel front camera is housed in a thin frame above the display.
Like some others gaming smartphones, the new Nubia has received special triggers on the side. They can be used as gamepad triggers. The manufacturer promises lightning-fast response. On the opposite end there is a special connector for connecting gaming accessories.
Prices for the Nubia Red Magic 5G in China start at 3,799 yuan (≈39,100 rubles) for the 8/128 GB version. The model with a transparent cover starts at 4,599 yuan (≈47,300 rubles) with 12/256 GB of memory.
