Penalties for smoking vape in public places

TASS reportsthat on December 11, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the first reading a bill that equates electronic cigarettes, vapes and hookahs with ordinary tobacco products. The fines for smoking in prohibited places for them will be the same: from 500 to 1,000. rubles.

For smoking a hookah or electronic cigarettes on the playground, you will have to pay much more: from 2 thousand rubles. up to 3 thousand rubles.

In addition, punishment is provided for violating the rules for the sale of electronic cigarettes - as in the case of tobacco products, the fine for citizens will be from 2 thousand rubles. up to 3 thousand rubles, for officials - from 5 thousand. up to 10 thousand rubles, and for legal entities - from 30 thousand. up to 50 thousand rubles.

The head of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy also said that the current bill provides for a ban on smoking hookahs in cafes and restaurants. In the second reading, the possibility of transferring to the discretion of the region the decision on the existence of hookah bars as such may be considered.
