1. Remember hygiene
The right morning rituals will help you wake up and energize. And they will also set a good mood for the whole day and inspire new achievements.
Personal hygiene is an important part of every successful man's morning rituals. You can never score on it - it is harmful to both health and appearance.
- Brush your teeth. Otherwise, you can earn caries and overgrow with plaque. Go over all your teeth carefully and remember to brush your tongue to prevent unpleasant odors.
- Wash yourself. If you don't want pimples to come out. Do not use regular hand soap for washing - it dries out the skin.
- Shave. When shaving, you remove not only hair, but also dead skin cells, dirt and grease from your face. This leaves the skin clean and fresh.
- Take a shower. To wash away sweat and other impurities from the body. Remember about the armpits and intimate areas - they must be cleaned daily.
In addition, you must not forget periodically:
- Clean your ears. This should be done once or twice a month. Only not with cotton swabs (they are dangerous to health), but with cotton pads. Moisten the discs with water and then wipe the ear canal and the outside of the ear.
- Trim fingernails and toenails. Once a week or two. If you leave your nails long, bacteria can build up under them.
- Combing. The comb massages the scalp and thus improves blood circulation. Together with the blood, nutrients and oxygen enter the cells, which promote hair growth and give it shine. But don't overdo it - brushing too often can damage the hair structure. Once a day is enough.
2. Do not overgrow with hair
Let's dwell in more detail on the shaving procedure. Remove stubble from face you need to be careful, otherwise you can get irritation and scratches. To prevent this, you must follow several rules:
- Shower before shaving. In the process, the skin will steam out and the hairs will become softer.
- Wash your face. This will remove dead skin cells, oil and dirt.
- Apply shaving product. Shaving gel or foam will help the blades move smoothly over your skin and prevent irritation.
- Make sure the razor is sharp enough. If you feel that the blades are dull, it's time to replace the cassette.
- Shave for hair growth. The main thing to remember here is that facial hair is a little chaotic. Therefore, you need to carefully study the bristles and understand the direction of hair growth in each of its sections.
- Rinse your shaver as often as possible. So the result will be much better. But don't bang the head of the razor against the sink to shake off excess foam or stuck hair, as this can dull the blade.
- Do not press down on the razor or shave the same area of skin multiple times. This can lead to cuts or irritation.
- Apply lotion after shaving. It will soothe the skin.
During quarantine, you also need to monitor your beard:
- Wash it with a special shampoo. It is not recommended to use the same remedy for scalp and facial hair. Facial shampoos are more delicate and do not contain aggressive surfactants.
- Facial hair is coarser than scalp, so be sure to moisturize them - otherwise the beard will look untidy. This will help cosmetic oils, balms and masks.
- Adjust your beard length with a trimmer or hair clipper. Do not forget about the border of hair growth - regularly update the line with a razor.
Pay special attention to the hair in the nose and ears - if they stick out noticeably, buy a special trimmer and use it periodically. Watch your eyebrows: if a pair of hairs grow between them or some hairs in the eyebrow itself are so long that they have already begun to curl, it is better to remove them with tweezers. The appearance will immediately become cleaner.
As for body hair, whether or not to shave is a matter of personal preference. If you choose the former, remember to shower and apply shaving agent before the procedure. And then be sure to apply a moisturizer to soothe your skin.
3. Use face and body cream
Moisturizing is essential to keep the skin soft and fresh, not dull and dry. Moreover, it will help prevent premature aging.
The main thing is to choose a product that suits your skin type. It is simple to define it: wash your face and do not apply any products. Now observe the sensations for a couple of hours:
- If the skin is tight, it is dry. Other signs of this type are flaking and early wrinkles.
- If there is no discomfort on the skin and in general there are almost never problems with it (no peeling, no acne) - it is normal.
- If an oily sheen appears on the skin, it is oily. Probably, from time to time you have to deal with acne or pimples.
- If in some areas the facial skin is oily, and in others it is normal or dry, this is a combined type.
Everyone needs a moisturizer, even if you have oily or combination skin. A properly selected remedy will help control the work of the sebaceous glands and give the appearance a healthy look.
Important! If you live with a girl, do not use her face cream. The skin of men and women is differentMale versus female skin: What dermatologists and cosmeticians should know, therefore, different care is needed.
Apply the cream on your face in the morning to look fresh during the day, and in the evening before bed to slow down the aging process at night. Before moisturizing, you must cleanse the skin: remove excess sebum, sweat and other impurities from the face.
It's the same story with body hydration: apply the cream after a shower when your skin is clean and fresh.
4. Keep exercising
Another important ritual to start your day with is exercise. You can even go in for sports in a tiny studio. Of course, a home warm-up is not a substitute for a full-fledged workout in a specialized gym, but it is definitely more effective than lying on the couch and a short run to the refrigerator.
To work all muscle groups in a small room, you can do multiple sets of push-ups, squats, lunges, and burpees. If you live in an apartment building, it is best to avoid jumping so as not to disturb the neighbors below.
Isometric exercises will help enhance the effect of training: linger at the bottom of the squat or push-up for 40-60 seconds.
Get creative with your workout and use furniture. For example, use a chair or sofa for push-ups "from the bench" to pump triceps. The dumbbells can be replaced with water bottles, and the kettlebell can be replaced with a backpack full of something heavy.
5. Monitor nutrition
Self-isolation is not a reason to switch to fast food and eat a packet of chips every day, washed down with cola or beer. Instead, you can learn how to cook simple, healthy meals. For example, egg muffins or potatoes with cheese and tuna. You can find recipes in our compilation. There are 125 of them - enough for the entire quarantine.
Food designers will help to reduce the time spent at the stove. These are services that either deliver already prepared dishes or bring ingredients for them - peeled, chopped and pickled, so you just need to mix and fry, boil or bake. If you choose an option from the food constructor, it usually takes only 30 or even 15 minutes.
And when you are not at all attracted to culinary feats, you can use delivery. But take your time to order pizza, sushi or shawarma. Choose something healthier, like soup, salad, rice or quinoa bowl, grilled meat or fish.
6. Change bed linen and towels regularly
One study by a British mattress company foundSingle Guys Hardly Ever Change The Sheetsthat 55% of single men between the ages of 18 and 25 change their bedding only once every three months. This is a sad statistic, because dirty sheets and pillowcases can lead to acne on the face and body, or even cause an allergic reaction.
The fact is that particles of dead skin, sweat, dust and dandruff accumulate on the bedding. And if you live with a cat or dog, also their fur. When the bed is not changed for a long time, dust mites settle on it - an allergy to them causes skin irritation, sneezing, runny nose and other symptoms. All the same sweat, sebum and other contamination on linen provokeYour Pillowcase Might Be Causing Your Breakouts the appearance of acne.
To avoid these problems, you just need to change the bed on time. Sheets and duvet covers - once a week or two, and pillowcases - at least once every seven days. If you have problem skin prone to acne, it's best to wash your pillowcase every two or three days.
7. Not spending all the time at the computer
Take a break from the monitor at least for a short while. Otherwise, there is a chance after quarantine to go outside with a sore back and red eyes. In between playing computer games and watching TV shows, do your workouts or clean up your apartment. Don't just dust the shelves and vacuum the carpets, but do a real general cleaning: wash the windows and refrigerator, wash the curtains, move the sofa and wipe the floor underneath.
Or clean up your closets: sort the clothes into the ones you want and the ones you don't wear anymore. By the way, in the process you can find a long-forgotten cool shirt or 500 rubles in a jeans pocket.
To avoid boring cleaning, set yourself a challenge, for example, dismantle the closet in an hour. Or challenge your friends on Instagram to self-isolate.
