Recently, owners of modern iPhone models with Face ID began to face the same problem - the system face recognition does not recognize the owner of the smartphone with protective mask on the face. The reason for this is quite understandable - the system cannot accurately identify the user who has most of his face hidden. As it turned out, there is a solution to this problem. About it writes edition 9to5mac.
So that the iPhone recognizes you even while wearing a mask, need to reconfigure Face ID:
- Go to Settings → Face ID & Passcode.
- Click the Reset Face ID button.
- Select Set up Face ID and scan with the face mask folded in half with the other half of your face open.
- Complete two scans with folded mask.
After completing the setup, put on the mask and test Face ID. If the iPhone still doesn't recognize you, perform additional setup:
- Return to the Face ID & Passcode section of the settings.
- Select "Alternative Appearance".
- Scan with the mask folded in half on the other side of your face.
- Complete the authentication setup.
Then check Face ID again with the face mask. If you did everything correctly, the recognition system should recognize you.
Tell us in the comments if you managed to teach the iPhone to recognize you in the mask.
