Lard in onion skins

Outside, lard in onion skins of a pleasant orange hue, but inside it is soft, not too salty, to the taste reminiscent of hot smoked lard.

Ingredients
- Onion husks 2-3 handfuls
- Salt 130-150 g
- Sugar 2 tbsp. spoons
- Bay leaf 2 pieces
- Water 1 l
- Fresh lard 1 kg
- Garlic 7-8 cloves
- Ground black pepper to taste
Cooking method

Put onion peels, salt, sugar and lavrushka in a saucepan. Cover with water and boil over medium heat.
Choose a saucepan that is not too wide so that the bacon is completely covered with water.
Rinse the bacon under running water, blot with paper towels and lower it into a saucepan with boiling brine. Cook for 20 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let the lard sit in the liquid for 8-10 hours. When the saucepan is cool, put it in the refrigerator.
Cut the garlic into flat slices and mix with the pepper.
Remove the bacon from the brine, pat dry with paper towels and roll in the garlic and pepper mixture.
Wrap in foil and leave in the freezer for 10-12 hours.
