Soup with meatballs and dumplings

Soup with dumplings and meatballs is an unusual and very satisfying dish that perfectly combines meat and flour balls. Try it.

Ingredients
- Water 2¹⁄₂ l + 5 tbsp. spoons
- Potatoes 3 pieces
- Carrots 1 piece
- Onion 1 piece
- Minced meat 200-250 g
- Salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil 1 tbsp. the spoon
- Egg 1 piece
- Flour 5-6 tbsp. spoons
- Spices to taste
- Greens to taste
Cooking method
Boil 2¹⁄₂ L of water in a saucepan. Cut the potatoes and carrots into small pieces.
Place vegetables in water and simmer over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes.

Chop the onion. Mix half with minced meat, salt and pepper. Form the walnut-sized meatballs.
Use whatever minced meat you like.
Add the meatballs to the soup and cook for another 10 minutes.
Fry the remaining onion in oil until golden brown.

For the dumplings, beat the egg, 5 tablespoons of water, salt and pepper. Add flour little by little and stir so that there are no lumps. The dough should not be thicker than sour cream.
For a brighter color, you can add a dash of turmeric to the dumplings.

Season the soup with salt and add about half a teaspoon of dough or a little more to it.
Help yourself with a second spoon.
When all the dumplings are in the saucepan, stir the soup, add the onion and spices. Cook for another 4–5 minutes, until the dumplings come up.
Sprinkle with herbs before serving.
