Meat balls in honey-orange sauce

Pork and beef balls are ideally complemented by a spicy-sweet sauce of honey, ketchup, balsamic vinegar, hot sauce and citrus juice.

Ingredients
- Breadcrumbs ¹⁄₂ cup
- Milk ¹⁄₄ cup
- Shallots 1 piece
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Ground black pepper ¹⁄₂ tsp spoons
- Salt 1 tsp the spoon
- Minced pork 220 g
- Egg 1 piece
- Ground beef 450 g
- ¹⁄₃ cup honey
- Ketchup ¹⁄₄ glass
- Sriracha or other hot sauce ¹⁄₄ glass
- Balsamic vinegar 3-4 tbsp. spoons
- Orange juice ¹⁄₂ cup
- Salt to taste
Cooking method
Pour the milk over the croutons and set aside while you prepare the other ingredients.
Grind the onion, garlic, black pepper and salt in a blender. You should get a smooth paste.
Add minced pork and egg to this paste and beat again.
Then stir in the ground beef by hand or with a blender.
Place a wire rack on a baking sheet or cover with foil.
Form the minced meat into small balls and place on a baking sheet.
Place in an oven preheated to 160 ° C for 15–20 minutes. Cool the meatballs.
While they are cooling, combine all the sauce ingredients in a saucepan or deep skillet.
Place over medium heat, bring to a gentle boil and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes. The mass should thicken.
Place the meatballs there so that they are covered with the sauce.
Serve hot or warm, placing each ball on a skewer and dripping with the rest of the sauce.
