Everyone who followed Pong Jun-ho has now heard about "Oscar"(And possibly everyone who goes online). But the director began his creative career a long time ago - and was successful, albeit not very popular in Russia. The Metacritic portal even included it in list of 30 directors who have never made a bad film. It was back in 2018, a year before the overwhelming and sudden success for many "Parasites».
We have collected the director's early films that can be legally watched or bought in Russia.
Dinosaur Invasion (2006)
The director's experiment with films about huge monsters. According to the plot, during the disposal of formaldehyde from the American military base, a huge amount of toxic substances poured into the Korean Han River. After some time, a monster started up there - and it is not averse to devouring everyone who, on a summer day, decided to sit on the river bank. However, if you are expecting an epic film in the spirit of "Godzilla", then you will be surprised: Bong Joon Ho has already begun to break the boundaries of genres here, and this is as much a horror movie as comedy or political satire.
