A former Samsung engineer has created an unusual device called GLAMOS. It adds interactive control to virtually any display through LiDAR technology. Moreover, the device itself is tiny: each side is slightly more than 3 cm long.
The gadget is suitable for screens up to 180 x 90 cm and works at a distance of up to 1 meter - similar devices Leap motion and Airbar offer a maximum of 50 cm. Compatible operating systems: Windows (7 and newer), macOS, Android, iOS and all systems Smart TV. The device is connected either via wire (GLAMOS Basic) or via Bluetooth (Pro version). The 2,000 mAh battery provides up to 2 hours of battery life.
Everything looks as futuristic as possible: to interact with the elements on the screen, you just need to move your hand through the air. This allows you to operate the appliance even if you have dirty hands (for example, during cooking or renovation). That said, the readings are accurate enough to use the device for gaming - timekillers like Fruit Ninja are best suited for this.
To order GLAMOS is available on Kickstarter, the price was 119 dollars for the basic version and 139 for the Pro (7,450 and 8,700 rubles, respectively). Orders will start shipping in July.
