Google Meet will be available to all users
News Technologies / / December 28, 2020
Google opens own video conferencing service Meet for everyone. Previously, it was only available to corporate customers through G Suite plans.
Anyone with a Google Account can create a video conference in Google Meet. There is no anonymous access. The meetings can be attended by up to 100 people, and so far without time limits. After September 30, there may be a limit of 60 minutes.
To connect to a conversation, you cannot simply follow the link if you are not authorized in the system. In addition, even those invited through a Google Calendar event will need to receive the green light from the meeting organizer. You don't have to install anything to access from a PC - Meet works right in Chrome and other modern browsers.
Mobile devices require Google Meet apps from the App Store and Google Play.
