In Russia, active measures have recently been taken to limit the spread of coronavirus. So, in Moscow and St. Petersburg mass events are prohibited (from 50 people), Rospotrebnadzor decided to close all swimming pools, fitness centers and water parks in the capital, and the Minister of Culture ordered suspend the activities of museums and exhibition centers throughout the country.
March 23 Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin obliged observe the home regime of Muscovites over 65 years old and citizens suffering from chronic diseases (including diabetes mellitus and bronchial asthma). The only exceptions are managers and employees, whose presence at work is vital for the functioning of enterprises, as well as health workers.
Everything is aimed at ensuring that as many people as possible stay at home, and, probably, in the coming days, more such decrees will appear. Epidemiologists considerthat limiting human interaction is the only way to reduce the burden on the healthcare system so that everyone who needs it can get timely help.
Do you think such measures are enough to contain the epidemic? Or maybe it's high time to introduce general quarantine and strict restrictions, as in China and European countries? Share your opinion in the comments.
