- Paprika 1 tsp the spoon

- Yogurt or sour cream 120 g
- Cucumber 1 piece
- Garlic 1 clove
- Chopped dill 1 tbsp. the spoon
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Flatbread 3-4 pieces
- Rucola 1 bunch
- Tomatoes 3-4 pieces
Cooking method
Add oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, mint and paprika to the chicken. Don't forget a generous pinch of salt.
-
Leave the meat to marinate in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
-
For gyros, you can safely use a purchased pita or make cakes yourself using our
recipe. After rolling out and frying the dough in a dry skillet, cover the cakes with a towel or plastic wrap until use. -
Take chicken. Preheat a skillet with oil and sauté the meat for about 2-3 minutes on each side until tender. Leave to sit for about 5-7 minutes before slicing.
-
A traditional addition to gyros is the tzatziki yoghurt sauce, which is prepared with the participation of cucumber and garlic. We decided to deviate a bit from the classic recipe by adding chopped dill.
-
Place a portion of the sauce on a flatbread, spread the rucola and tomato slices on top. Then lay out the sliced chicken and roll into a roll.
It is better to eat gyros right away so that the cake does not get wet from the abundance of sauce.
