The coronavirus is hitting more than just the tech industry, forcing manufacturers cancel their presentations, but also on the film business. So, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Universal studio decided to postpone the premiere of the 25th Bond film - now No Time to Die will be released not in early April, but only on November 25. About it reports THR.
The postponement of the premiere in the midst of a promotional campaign will undoubtedly bring losses, however, the start of distribution in conditions of practically closed cinemas can have much more serious consequences. And this is true not only for China, but also for South Korea, Italy and Japan, where COVID-19 has already led to a drop in cinema attendance.
The decision to postpone the premiere was made not without the participation of Bond fans. Just a few days ago, representatives of one of the largest fan sites about James Bond published open letter to film studios with a request to postpone the release of the picture at least until the summer of 2020.
No Time to Die was the first major film to be postponed due to COVID-19. However, it is quite possible that it will not be the last. We start to worry about "Fast and Furious 9" and "Black Widow".
