If you have a rather old laptop, then you probably came across the need to replace some components. Often for this you need to completely open the case and sort out all the filling, which significantly complicates the task. User "Pikabu" with the nickname Pykav faced such a problem and decided to approach the issue radically, turning his laptop into a candy bar. He described all the stages of transformation in a separate post. on the site.
As the author notes, the case of his old laptop finally broke in the hinge area, so an inexpensive replacement had to be found. It was not possible to get the same body, so it was decided to replace it with a regular baking tray purchased from the supermarket.
In the baking sheet, the author placed several pieces of plywood to make it easier to fix the filling. Holes were also made for cooling and future connectors.
The motherboard had to be fixed on silicone gaskets and screws, and an aluminum die was added in the place of possible heating.
On the verge of an improvised case, speakers, a charging port and a power button were brought out. On top of all this, a laptop screen was installed along with a native bezel.
Finally, the homemade monoblock was completed with a stand made from an old model airplane stand. The result was impressive. Do you agree?
