Elena Kamay
Organizer and ideologist of "Lambada-market." I love beautiful things with history. Organizes offline events, online marketing and sales. In the past - Bayer Oldich Dress & Drink.
What do you do in your work?
I came up with "Lambada Market». This is an online store and a monthly fair city beautiful things. It all started in 2009 when my friend and I spent the first friendly flea market: our friends came and sold their belongings and prepared food. Everything was nice. We liked. We began to do much more.
I organize offline events. Together with the team looking for designers, shops, vintage shops, gastronomic projects of different craftsmen, process and select the best proposal. It's great to see how much there is the young independent brands, renewed crafts.
I'm inspired by a lot of things. For example, when I see happy and tired participants to the "Lambada", it's worth it.
Also lead site. We launched it in August 2015. Now the opportunity to show their talent is not only the residents of the capital. It's amazing how wonderful and beautiful things people do in Tyumen, Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Kostroma, Petersburg. Everywhere.
What is your occupation?
I have completed higher education. I guess I'm ignorant. As my dad says, "three classes of a parochial." Prokukovala time in several universities: Institute of Culture, Institute of Journalism and Literature, Literary Institute. We can say that by profession I am a little journalist. It would have been written in the diploma, if it was. But exactly I left before the defense. Thesis was written on the theme of «PR and advertising in the fashion business." At 17, I started working. Quite a long time worked as a shop.
As a result, a predisposition to the humanities, interest in fashion, own activity and the ability to keep abreast joined together and resulted in what I'm doing now.
Education - a necessary thing, but individual. Far more important to me seem to be the general cultural level, the ability to navigate the world wont work obstinacy, moral values, and the moment of feeling themselves, respect other people's labor, flexibility and integrity.
If these qualities are developed, then find a deal like and dive into it quite easily.
Nevertheless I dream at some point go back to study, select the historical profession and start to swim without bracers in the facts, names, and numbers. In addition, now a lot of opportunities for self-education. I have set up some channels. For example, to Medium, you can only subscribe to what you're wondering. I read about startups, e-commerce, global trends in the world of common cultural events on biotechnology, space, literature, fashion, art. From time to time I look TED lecture.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Strengths:
- obstinacy;
- intuitive understanding of the moment;
- ability to find common language with different people;
- tendency to improvisation;
- ability to assemble a team, when all confused;
- sense of humor. I would like to think so! :)
The least favorite features - categorical, but it is sometimes right; and temper, sometimes.
How does your workplace?
While working at home, but soon we will take to the office.
I work on the MacBook Pro Late 2013 and the fifth iPhone. It has a tablet, but it is not particularly necessary. Big things are done well and texts with nouta and small - with the phone. During operation, I listen to music on headphones.
Browser - Firefox. Here I am a little out of date, even me laugh. But a matter of habit - for some reason did not pass on Chrome.
I work with all Google services: Gmail, «Analysis" (along with "Yandex. Metric ")," Documents "," Drive "(plus Dropbox)," Calendar "(for the planning of the day), the Hangouts, and so on.
I'm a fan Slack. All operating communication moved to: keep track of all of the tags, setting tasks for moderation, design, editorial content.
For instant messaging and Facebook, "VKontakte" chats. The Facebook app for use with the page - Pages and Facebook ad. Telegram.
I work a lot with images in Pinterest, including through the application. This is a working Zen.
Notifications are included as necessary. For example, in fluffy Slack and Facebook - so to me, you can quickly reach. But a couple of years, all stands in silent mode. This adds a degree of calm.
In a text editor like old Lebedev "Printing House". Always embarrassed when I see posts dots, extra spaces in the brackets, space after the hyphen, the wrong quotation marks, spaces after the quotes.
On the phone I like the app Moves. Thanks to him, you know exactly where he was, how much has passed. Even if walking at night with my friends and do not remember a damn thing, you can restore all the movements.
The fact that you need every day:
- Goop - well done, nice guide.
- Yelp and Citymapper - sorry, we do not work.
- «Appendix Jamie Oliver"- if I want to cook something at home.
- Uber - where without it?
Is there a place in your paper work?
Hardly ever. And I'm sorry. I consider myself a happy person, because I remember when I came in the edition of magazines and paper letters on the streets were payphones. Happy that my childhood was not tablets. This romance!
But I always read the traditional paper book. I can not choose them electronic.
What is in your bag?
If meetings are scheduled and have a scope of work that needs to be done, taking a laptop and work in the city.
Usually, however, the bag phone, keys, cosmetic bag, wallet, card "Troika" (very often go on the bus), cardholders, drops into the eyes, sometimes spare lenses, comb, sunglasses. As for the need of these things difficult question. On the one hand, everything you need, on the other - do not need anything at all.
While traveling I try to read, I take a couple of books. But in general, a couple of years ago, working in Oldich Dress & Drink Bayer vintage clothing and a lot of traveling, I realized that the main thing - to have a passport and a credit card. Everything else does not matter!
How do you organize your time?
In my head somehow it all broken down into sections and lines. Year is a square where there are important points (events, launches and so on), they somehow themselves are planned. Then the head of the bear in their overall plan and dedicate them to the team. For the development of the project in the planning of the network it is very important. When offline, you can add a little funk and jazz, then online all the moves must be written, everything must go as much as possible precisely.
Usually I have enough Google calendar and diary entries. When I start to swim to the aid of our manager Alya. She paints all the important things, if I forget to make time for them. By the way, delegation of powers - executive, and a big step that you need to learn. Properly taught to do and set goals is just as important as their successful come up and close.
What's your daily routine?
My dream is to be an early riser. But Moscow is making - often roll into an owl. Process and happens to sit up till night.
In the morning usually drink hot water with lemon juice and then do, stroll for a coffee and sit down to work. Working from home is good because it can be interrupted, do yoga or go to the gym.
The most productive time for me - a light day. I try to limit myself: do not run very late, work weekends, leave time for yourself, to ventilate the head. Because I know that, unless you do not, fatigue is inevitable. As a consequence, the inspiration will be gone, and you will take off with a working track, which can not afford. It is necessary to stop. We must be inspired. We need to look around, because the world inside the computer and Instagram distorted, as in the movie "The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors".
Ends day or a walk, or talk with friends, or movie, or book, or answers to urgent questions, if you do not get to them during the day.
How to pass the time in traffic jams?
Work: I reply to messages, talking on the phone, write posts in Instagram, look at the statistics, respond to Slack. And sometimes you just look out the window! :) It is beautiful there.
While traveling I try not to stick. I try to read, listen to music, take a look around. If you need to work, I leave a couple of hours especially at night or in the morning and devote their strictly business.
What's your hobby?
I can not say that I have some sort of certain hobby, but like everyone else, like to travel. While traveling always go to "bloshinka" and rummage around it.
I dream of free time and a world tour.
I also like to read. Love constructivist architecture, museum-houses and apartment-museum. Of the most interesting things I can recommend the apartment-museum of Lev Gumilyov and Sergei Kirov, both in St. Petersburg, house museums Chekhov in Yalta, in Prishvina Dunino and Chukovsky in Peredelkino.
What place sport occupies in your life?
I try to do a couple of times a week. I can not say that this is some kind of special training and I'm an athlete. But run by two or three kilometers, doing strength training course. During a workout, the swimming pool and hammam. That's what I can lure to keep off the approaches and can not escape from the hall. All this helps to keep stress conditions, especially in winter.

What is your life motto?
My credo - "And yet I have a cat Tom." My niece, when she was two years old, fell into a terrible melancholy, cried for a long time, could not be comforted. And when it came to himself, he said that it was "still a cat Tom." :)
I'm happy when it becomes a loud chuckle.
The main thing - never to lose heart. Live day by day, because today is composed of your tomorrow. You have to believe in yourself and laugh a lot. To be able to see the beauty and inspiring. In the words of the captain in a comedy science fiction film, never give up, never surrender!
