The story about the approach to work, gadgets, applications, and the importance of paper. Brief and to the point.
Mikhail Karpov
Product Manager in the social network "VKontakte". Co-founder of barcamp for managers on management and marketing of software products. Previously, he worked in «Yandex», Moto, Arksoft. He graduated from St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University.
What do you do in your work?
Now I develop the service "Video" in the social network "VKontakte". A recent - we started with a team of service live broadcasts VK Live broadcasts and gaming.
Very youth market and damn interesting. :)
Prior to that, he worked in the "Yandex". Led the service "Yandex. Jobs' products in mobile search and "Yandex. Turkey. "
In order to achieve the goals I have:
- work a lot;
- I love the products, which have led the work on;
- I communicate with different people (you never know from whom he received an interesting idea or proposal);
- always I write down and structure the information;
- constantly looking for what could be improved.
What is your occupation?
He graduated from the best schools in Russia. Then he received a master's degree in "Mathematician-programmer" at the Polytechnic University.
Ever wanted to do something applied, so I began as a software developer. Then he moved to the side of management: I wanted to have more influence on the final result.
I prefer constantly learn something new and apply it in practice. In including this developing the largest in the CIS event for the exchange of experience between the presidents of products - ProductCampRussia & Eastern Europe.
How does your workplace?
I like an empty table. As required it appears on a laptop and a piece of paper.
I sit next to the command: it is important to communicate in person, not through correspondence.
Part of the time I spend at the table in the coffee-Point. It is useful to change the situation, ignore the routine work.
Gadgets
Love my Xiaomi Mi4i, I plan to upgrade to Xiaomi Mix. used Xiaomi Mi BandTo a "smart alarm clock" to learn how to get up earlier.

Is there a place in your paper work?
Very like the paper. Important for me to write information: so it is better processed and remembered.
I go with a folded piece of A4 and a pen to write down ideas on the go. If you want to draw a diagram or layout, it is also easier to make a draft on paper.
What is in your bag?

How do you organize your time?
In past years I have tried a ton of time management mechanic. I realized that it should be as simple.
As a result, I have just three pages in the "Notes" on the Mac: plan for the day, week and month. Plus separate roadmap for the year in «Google Docs." We must be honest with you: for the day take only three mandatory tasks.
I believe that the delegation - that is important. Though it is necessary to get used to at first, the quality of the results is reduced. But in the end, and we get more and better.
From time to time, to synchronize and to find out what I wasting my time, Do the following test: during the day I write down what I was doing every hour and at the end of the day studying.
What's your daily routine?
I get up at eight in the morning: waking up, charging, private affairs. Recently I trained myself to compulsory breakfast.
On operation from 11:00 to 21: 00-22: 00. Then a family dinner, household chores, and sleep in the morning.
What's your hobby?
