We often give tips to help disperse the routine, try a new pump and creativity. Today we offer to kill the ego in order to save the creative potential.
Ego - opinion of themselves
Ego - it's not bad. But so easy to fall into the trap of self-admiration, telling myself that you're smarter, more talented than all these little people, and what you deserve more.
Unfortunately, such beliefs can interfere with all areas of life: relationships, work, creativity, and ability to develop.
Therefore, it is necessary to arrange regular inspections of your ego. You think you can keep yourself in their hands? Think more. Here are five ways the ego validation (by the way, one of them scare you. Here it is bound to taste).
1. Take care of those that are not able to
The ego needs rewards, stars on the Walk of Fame and pats on the head for a job well done. But when we do something outside your comfort zone, we can fail. And nice.
Reverse the effect of the failure to help creativity. No need to rush to extremes and take up something awful. Experiment with a set of skills related to your profession. Are you a photographer? Take video. Graphic Designer? Learn code. A constant challenge to his ability helps remain humble.
2. Learn your anger
Bro, what are you, crazy? The ego is always ready to inflate out of molehills. The next time you feel a surge of anger, ask yourself where it came from. Constructive criticism casts doubt on the results of the work? Due comment colleagues think that the whole world condemns you, abusing, threatening? All these feelings are the result of too violent reaction of your ego. Calculate your triggers and work on transforming negative energy into productive.
3. Listen man, who was not paying attention
Listening to others, rather than suppressing them, you will know a lot more (although dominance - this instinctive movement of your ego). The truth is that you do not know all the answers, and your opinion - not the most valuable in the world. The creative work each has "blind spot." Listen carefully to other people's words and try to interact with people. Especially those who are considered idiots. It helps to challenge the presumption, to return to reality and shed light on solutions that do not come to mind.
4. Try a new approach
You reflexively react to the changes? Perhaps this concern is your ego. It is easy to assume that your approach to job - the best. But using new methods and solutions of others, you can work better and make amazing discoveries.
I have long resisted all tools to help schedule and manage tasks. But when my old-fashioned to-do list was out of control, I conducted a survey in the office to find out how to keep track of the remaining tasks. Naturally, I was inundated with a ton of information about the different methods, one of which I immediately applied and was satisfied with the result. But the interesting thing is that I was able to learn more about their colleagues, how they prioritize. Someone important was communication, and he immediately responded to the letter. Another focused on the completion of the cases. These observations have made my collaboration with colleagues is much more productive.
Moral: do not need to put a workflow on its head, but the willingness to accept change opens the door for great ideas.
5. Praise someone
Ego requires trust and recognition, but on a good product a lot of people working hard. The project is not dependent. Can you manage a staff of 50 people or being autonomous freelancer, someone always helps. The manager made good technical task, the editor at the last minute found an error. Recognize others' achievements and accolades: this approach will improve the working environment and helps to act together.
