Mode "Do Not Disturb" is not the only remedy for situations where you need to focus on. There are other ways that are not as effective.
1. Single Application Mode
To focus on a single application, you can expand it to full screen and hide the rest of the window, but there is an option easier - Single Application Mode. It is activated with the following command:
defaults write com.apple.dock single-app -bool true; killall Dock
When enabled, all inactive windows will automatically hide and only the application will display, you are working with at the moment. However, even non-active application icons in the Dock will become translucent, to once again not to distract you from work.
To disable the Single Application Mode, use this command:
defaults write com.apple.dock single-app -bool false; killall Dock
2. Black-and-white mode
An unusual, but at the same time very effective advice that will help maintain concentration. Perhaps completely black-and-white interface - something that you do not have enough for concentrated work.
To enable this feature, go to "Settings» → «Accessibility» → «Display» and tick the item "Use gray tones."
3. Parental control
This feature allows you to limit access to social networks and distracting websites, as well as block the non-operation of the application at the right time. To enable it, you need a standard account (if you have only administrator - Head of a new one). Then open the "Settings» → «Parental Control" and select a new account.
In the "Web" you can specify a list of sites to block, or, on the contrary, only specify permitted. In the "Program" in this way you can block access to inappropriate applications by putting the appropriate checkbox, and mark the desired program.
4. Reading mode in Safari
Reading Mode - a great way to hide the distracting elements on a Web page and leave only the content for which you have come. If possible, try to use it all the time, and it is better to adjust the switch at all sites.
To do this, open Safari, go to "Settings» → «Websites», select the side panel Reader and turn it on when you visit other websites. Now all the default page will be opened in read-only mode, and to switch to the normal mode will need to click on the icon in the address bar.
