Why be bored at work and how to fight it
Work And Study / / December 25, 2019
Now many do not suffer more from burnout at work and bored. And often the reason that we happen ourselves.
You, too, were in this situation, if you often experience the following symptoms:
- evening you looking forward to a new day;
- rejoice when the working day comes to an end;
- you are running on autopilot;
- You do not see the prospects of their work.
But do not despair. Even those who love their work, sometimes experience boredom. The two main reasons why this is happening.
1. You are no longer challenge yourself
Maybe you hate your boss, colleagues or their sphere of activity. You may have even tried to change something, but nothing happened. And what happened next? You surrendered.
In psychology this state, when we humble ourselves with unpleasant conditions, not trying to do anything, is called learned helplessness.
"But I can not just go and find something else!" - you might say. This tells you learned helplessness. Why not? Think - why not?
When we cease to challenge yourself, we cease to grow.
And for that, I do not even hate their jobs. Maybe you're just too well versed in their field. Then there is a similar situation: you stop develop.
What to do to avoid this?
- Regularly reassess its work.
- Diversify their activities.
- Constantly learn something new, work-related.
- Set yourself new goals.
2. You do not have a clear vision of its goals
No matter what you seek: to create their own brand, to become the best specialist in your field or just to raise their children - you need a clear understanding of what motivates you.
If you do not think of it. People are not born with a ready set of goals and desires. Ask yourself what you want out of life what you want to see your future. Just do not say: "By February 15, 2023 I want to start his own company." It sounds absurd. Just try to understand in which direction you want to move.
Understand what you are aiming at and remind yourself about it every day.
If you change, together with you will change and your aspirations. But whatever you do, do not live aimlessly.
It's boring at work? You are to blame. Not your boss, not the economy, and not your hopeless city, namely you.
It you ceased to develop, you forget about your dreams, you become lazy, you gave up. Only you can say boredom "no." And it needs to take action.
