How to work with Gmail more efficiently

Matt Cutts (Mutt Cutts), working at Google, gives in his blog three pretty good advice on how to use Gmail with greater efficiency.
1. Adjust the sorting rules so that in the folder "Inbox" there was no mailings and discussion lists. In principle, it is logical. Cluttered Inbox creates personally, I have a feeling of discomfort :) Though I must admit that this advice is obvious, do not know how you can not sort mail.
2. Use "constant search for". The Council will approach the user's browser mozilla Firefox. You need to install the extension Greasemonkey and script Saved Searches (Put the script can be safely, it is created mihai Parparita, Google engineer). After installing the script, go to Gmail. You will see the updated sidebar, shown on the right. "Imagine that you are working in the company Example.com a team of three people, - says Matt - Alice, Bob and Carol. This search will find the letters that are in the "Inbox" and come from any of these employees:
to: me AND label: inbox AND (from: [email protected] OR from: [email protected] OR from: [email protected])
This rule can be written in a concise and elegant way:
to: me AND label: inbox AND (from: (alice | bob | carol) @ example.com)
To add a new constant search, click on the link Edit searches. Here's what you'll see (clickable image):
Label - the name of a new permanent search, Query - search request (an example was given above). Note that you can determine the position of the reference constant search.
Create a constant search for emails from employees, family members, etc. I'm using a constant search for "Letters for a certain period" and "Letters from the investments."
3. Last Council of Matt Cutts concerns separating the inner corporate and external mail. Imagine that you are getting messages from my colleagues in the company Example.com and mail from other destinations on one box. You want to separate any external e-mail (the one that is not on your colleagues example.com). We must act so. Create a new filter. In the From field specify -example.com, clicks the Next Step and to create a shortcut (label) outside. After creating a filter, and a label, you can issue the command: "to: me AND -label: outside AND label: inbox”. Now you can "switch" between the internal and external e-mail.
