Simple ways to work with task lists (Doris vs Gmail Tasks)
Productivity / / December 23, 2019
Today it is difficult to surprise someone service, support planning and in particular - to-do lists. The head is easy to come to the proverbial Remember The Milk or Producteev. But in fact, they seem to me too congested and uncomfortable, because I always try to simplify and structure of the plan itself, and his approach to creating and modifying. Most recently, my attention was attracted by a new service, Doris, who "speaks" in two languages, Russian and English.
In life Doris It is a very simple task management service. In particular, it is immediately after the registration for the organization of work on a method of DITAnd, accordingly, it pulls me and use. Tasks in Doris add just as easy and move them from one group to another. However, I remembered that we already wrote about how to construct an interpretation DIT based Gmail tasks, and I decided to compare these solutions.
In a previous article, I suggested creating a Gmail tasks in two separate lists. It must be done, it seemed to me, in order to reduce the visual noise and focus only on the task. However, if you use only one list and to separate current and "tomorrow" task to use a top-level task, it becomes clear that simulate Doris in Gmail is easy.
I try to work in one mode, and here and there (just say, that such a comprehensive test is difficult to call), I made the following conclusions:
Doris
pros
- It has a fairly attractive interface
- Simple and clear at a glance
- It provides access to the history of tasks in a convenient form
Minuses
- The inability to use the keyboard and as a consequence - less rapid methods of work
- You need to start another account
- Loss of the useful space on screen
- Lack of integration with any «inbox»
gmail tasks
pros
- Integration with Google Account
- A simple way of writing conversion task
- Great job with the keyboard (Russian in the Safari for Mac - problems)
- The ability to create sub-tasks if necessary
Minuses
- Inability to conveniently print a list
Output
If you do not need a keyboard, and integration with Gmail - Doris you might find useful, otherwise more convenient and effective solution looks like Gmail tasks, and interface congestion can be avoided if to make tasks a separate window.
