Productivity Web Services / / December 23, 2019
storage service, synchronization and file sharing Dropbox is a Web-based interface and clients for the most popular desktop and mobile operating systems. But what if you need to quickly upload a file in Dropbox, but the hand is not any computer or smartphone to set the client and you do not remember your username and password to access the service? What if you need to get the file to Dropbox from a person having no account there?
In such cases, you need a simple web service Habilis, allows you to add files to Dropbox by email, or its more advanced analogue - Send to Dropbox.
Habilis
First of all, you must give the service permission to access your account Dropbox (with the username and password are not transmitted). To do this, click on the Connect to Dropbox (Connect to Dropbox).
You will be prompted to log into Dropbox, if you have not done so already. Next, confirm the request for access to your account.
Then you can return to the Habilis, by clicking on its name.
With this you get set up for your e-mail address. All files attached to coming to this address e-mail messages will be downloaded to the folder From Habilis (From Habilis) in your Dropbox.
Send to Dropbox
This service works in the same Habilis, but offers some additional features.
After establishing communication with Dropbox you will be redirected to the page with the generated for your email address and file transfer settings.
In the section How we should organize your files (How should we organize your files), you can define a folder structure for storing files uploaded using Send to Dropbox.
By default, files are added to the main folder Attachments (Attached files). To organize your files, you can specify the levels of nested folders based on the e-mail message attributes: From address (the sender's address), Date (date), Subject (Subject). To do this, drag the necessary attributes of the field in the Attributes field Save to (Save as ...).
Under Other Settings (Other settings) contains additional useful options:
- Extract zip archives automatically (Automatically unpack ZIP)
- Include original zip archive (When you unpack the ZIP archive to preserve the original file)
- Include plain text copy of email message (Keep the email in plain text)
- Include html copy of email message (Save a mail message as HTML)
Unfortunately, not Cyrillic characters are displayed when you save an email message text :(
Output
Developers Dropbox We took care of the cross-platform, allowing you to download files from virtually anywhere. But, in my opinion, and the function of downloading files via e-mail (and by messengers) could be another advantage of the wonderful service. As long as this feature is not implemented in your Dropbox, we will use the simple and convenient third-party services - Habilis and Send to Dropbox.
