XXI Century - a solid deadlines. We are in a hurry, but do not have time to work, but do not earn. Phone, instant messenger, email and dozens of daily distractions cause crushing blows to our productivity. Meanwhile, personal effectiveness - this is the key to success. We offer you 7 ways to help you not to rush, but still have time to work and earn.
1. daily planning
16th US president Abraham Lincoln once said that if he had six hours to chop down a tree, the first four of them, he would have spent sharpening the ax. Working without a specific purpose - is meaningless, so before you begin work, make a plan of action for the day. Take 15 minutes to jot down on paper their current tasks, and then rank them. After that you can safely get to work. Many see planning as a waste of time, but those who use them know how much it increases professional productivity.
2. priority
A day is too little time to keep up everything, so it is important to set the right priorities. Try to perform the most urgent and important tasks first.
3. The game should be worth the candle
You should not be wasted on meaningless and unimportant things. Imagine how much time you will have, if you exclude from your routine schedule and useless task.
4. Flow
As noted above, the constant distractions destroy personal effectiveness. To work efficiently, you need to get in state of flux. To do this, find a secluded place (office or a cafe near the office - it does not matter), and immersed himself in the process. In this case, the same type of problem should be grouped together and solve their blocks. Read more - in this issue of the podcast "42".
5. Email
For many open morning «Gmail» - number one task. That is "nothing" does not take more than ten minutes. Meanwhile, most business coaches are advised to check email once a day at the same time. One should not do this before 11 am - start of the day is better spent on a decision of its own, and not strangers, the primary tasks.
6. Work on the result
What is your goal? What would you like to achieve by the end of the year? Surprisingly, few people can clearly answer these questions. Decide what you want (to run a startup, get a raise, increase income, etc.) and confidently go to the goal, with work on it for at least three hours a day.
7. deadlines
Many perceive the "deadline" as a terrible thing, because if you do not meet, there will be trouble in them. Actually deadlines great discipline, and thus help to achieve the goals. Being accepted to a particular case, be sure to specify the start time and end time. Knowing the expiry date of the work, it will be easier to plan and allocate their time and energy. But be careful - do not put deadlines "with reserve". Remember, the work fills the allotted time on it (Parkinson's Law).
By following these simple guidelines, and increasing personal effectiveness, you can work less and achieve more.
