3 important questions that will be productive every day
Productivity / / December 23, 2019
Very often it happens that you do not feel satisfaction in the work done. It seems to be all right, sustained periods, complaints no one. But the thorn stuck in my head thought: "If I have performed this task still here, then it would definitely considered myself really productive ..."
This approach is fatal: it threatens a loss of motivation and of burnout. But to feel that you're working productively, you can (and should) and without additional load. To do this, just every day, ask yourself three questions:
- I did something today to make your life easier tomorrow?
- Can I be proud of today's work?
- I fulfilled all that was required of me?
If you answer "yes" to at least one of these questions, that's good. And if all three, you just do not worry about anything.
Most often, we estimate their productivity by the volume of work performed. For example, if you have edited the five articles, answered 10 emails and visited the two meetings, most likely, you say: "It was a good day."
But if most of the day was to collect material for writing just one, albeit a remarkable article, you will surely feel that flawed. The next day you will be late for an hour or two after work only to perform a couple of small problems and finally feel
productive.Is it correct? Not.
Less is better.
Assess your working day is not made on the number of tasks, according to their importance. Do not go out of the office with the feeling that you "did not do anything." The main thing is that you can tell yourself tomorrow, thanks at least for something. Suppose, for what you have collected enough material for a study of an important project. Or by making a few small current tasks, released tomorrow, in order to perform one important task.
Forget about the phrase: "Monday was more productive, because I did more than on Friday." You say to yourself: "Monday was productive, because I cleared my schedule for Tuesday. And precisely because of this Tuesday I was able to write an article (to complete the project, the important task) than really proud. "
Franz Kafka, writerProductivity - the ability to do what you could not do before.
The absence of a discontent will help to fully relax after work, instead of gnawing themselves for "unfinished." For sure there will be days in which something does not work, plans have to be adjusted. But do not let the work to cross the threshold of your home. You will extract not any good, being half here, half there.
Set yourself to the fact that, today and tomorrow, and tomorrow and the following days will definitely be productive. Because you know what to do.
