The habit of constantly checking the mail makes us less productive. Layfhaker tells how to get rid of it.
Do not try to read all the letters
time management experts are often advised not to postpone the reading of the working-mail later. However, this idea is counterproductive: constantly distracted by emails, you are wasting your time and worse concentrate on the task.
Most of the emails that you receive, do not require an immediate answer, but it takes away from your precious time and energy. As long as you parse mail, you do not do more important matters directly related to the project work, planning, strategy development.
How to stop being distracted by mail
To begin to recognize the problem: constantly checking e-mail, you make requests and issues of other people their top priority. Because of this, you do not do what they should. Remind yourself that you are really important.
Focus on the task, and the mail will be examined later. You can gain a graph that will respond to the letter, and depart from it only when waiting for a really important message for your work.
Every time you want to check your emails, think, what other challenges are you facing right now. Only if nothing more urgent than the response to the letters at the moment do not, you can open the "Inbox" folder.
