Why Apple is urgently needed to improve wireless printing capabilities to iOS-devices

It is fashionable to use electronic versions of documents, keep records in electronic form. Everywhere imposes concern for the environment and we are forced to give up the paper. But while you can not remove paper from our lives completely - from time to time, we all have something to print, sign. In OS X fine print function is implemented, there are many options and the ability to save PDF-version of the document. With the release of iOS 4.2 Apple introduced AirPrint wireless printing function, and it would appear that sending documents to your email, for printing came to an end. But until now, the situation with printing on iOS is not perfect. AirPrint works with a very limited number of printers and it is perhaps the main problem. Apple is urgently needed to improve the situation.
I have a printer connected to the AirPort Extreme, which is also connected to the rest of my devices. The other day, I needed to print something from my iPad, and I could not do it (I mean directly). I can send print any files from your MacBook Pro, but with the iPhone and iPad, unfortunately not.
The thing is that Apple uses its AirPrint technology, which allows you to print from iOS-devices or Macs for some printers. The problem is that these printers must be compatible with AirPrint, which means that the producer has to pay Apple for the use of their technology.
Why Apple does not build everything you need for AirPrint on OS X, or their routers AirPort Extreme? I do not think that they earn a lot of licensing. Yes, iOS users are unlikely to want to spend their money to buy a new printer (if they already have printer that suits them), so that from time to time to print documents and web pages from their iPhone.
At the same time, my printer works seamlessly with the Mac, through AirPort Extreme. When I recently chose a printer with AirPrint the model did not suit me in some ways (mostly price) and I settled on a standard Brother laser printer that seamlessly connected to AirPort Extreme and successfully working. Whenever I or someone in my household wants to print something - we have to send a link to a page or PDF via email or other means.
I understand that this is most likely due to the fact that in OS X, you can install the driver, and iOS closed system, in which the picking Apple in any case will not allow, but still... It is possible though to implement the ability to print using the Mac and connected to it any printer. I do not know, maybe I want too much, but maybe it's just the effects of "toad", but apparently I am not alone. After failing to make friends iOS-Soup with your printer, I started looking for a solution on the web and found that a large number of people are faced with a similar problem also criticized Apple and also nowhere came, but to buy a printer that supports AirPrint.
Yes, I know about the existence of Printopia and that is exactly what I wanted, but still, Printopia - it is a crutch. And for me personally, this is not an option, because I type very rarely to spend $ 20 on a decision from the third party developers. But then again, if it is easy to implement this feature, why is Apple still has not done?
