One of the main "problems» iPhone users is that we found a lot more applications than we ever will use, and the search for the desired program is getting with the times tiresome. Of course, we can use Spotlight, to find any installed application, but often it turns out to be useless. Because usually we remember that the application does, not what it is called.
I am one of those people who love order and all laid out on the shelves, so the first attempt to organize applications on springborde was - sort by categories. Applications for travel and travel in the same category, entertainment and so on in the other
For a while it worked, but the number of applications and categories grew and this sorting was useless. For example, in the category "Entertainment" I had an application that I use every day, such as "Music" and those that run very rarely, such as iBooks, (read normally on iPad). Sometimes, I could not remember which category the application. Dropbox in Business or Network? What about applications that span multiple categories?
So recently I decided to try a new way. Instead, to sort all applications following the logic, I placed them in situations where they may need me.
Do not be surprised that the Camera is on the "home" screen, but is mainly used outside of the home. This is due to the fact that the phone lives in the dock when I'm at home or in the office, and to start the camera need only one click. And when I'm away from home, the phone is in your pocket and the camera will start directly with "lokskrina". This is the meaning of this method - ease of access, rather than pedantic folding folders.
The second screen contains the programs that are most often used on the road or on a walk. The icons on the screen, also a kind of sorting. For example, "Music" and "Podcasts" are close by; They are followed by 4 applications on transport (road) subjects; Further programs that span multiple categories.
I was going to create a few more screens by category, but decided that it is possible to scatter all the folders on the third screen. It allows to quickly find what I need. The following folders are a few "mismatched" applications that do not fit under any of the categories and that, as a rule, I could not find if you put them in a folder.
It remains the last screen where I keep any "garbage". Here, the standard Apple applications that I do not use, but I can not remove, and atkzhe application App Store.
At the dock I placed four programs, which I use all the time, no matter where I am, "Telephone", "Messages", a Skype and "Settings".
Of course I use much less applications than others. This is due to the fact that my iPad is always with me, so that all the "hard work" falls on him. That's why I put the Safari from the Home screen, and why have so few applications for travel and travel. Installed on the iPhone only apps that I can use to quickly, without taking the iPad out of the bag.
I believe that this method (sorting situations, rather than by category), will work even better with a larger number of installed applications. You may also find a lot of programs that are not used and which must be removed, which only contribute to better organization of the application.
I use this method for several weeks. The application is very easy to find, and Spotlight have never needed. And what a way to sort you use?
