How to check your own vision

Thanks to the work of fellow TED Andrew Bastavrusa with his vision team is now possible to check not only a doctor. He and his team have created a special mobile application for smartphones that allows health workers to provide eye care for patients from anywhere!

Man perceives most of their information about the world visually, so the sight of our eyes - this is a very complex and delicate natural tool, which, unfortunately, may break. About 39 million people worldwide suffer from blindness, 80% of them live in developing countries. This means that not all are able to check their vision and get treatment. In some places in Africa is not required for this instrument. However, in these regions, many more people have access to mobile phones than to clean tap water.

This fact prompted fellow TED Bastavrus Andrew and his team on an interesting idea - to create a special mobile application that would help your eyes tested. So there was a Peek - application for smartphones that allows health workers to provide eye care to patients anywhere.
