No excuses: "Sometimes, when it seems that everything is over, everything is just beginning" - an interview with Xenia Bezuglova

Recently, a guest of our special project was a model Anastasia Vinogradova. In an interview, she mentioned that she participated in the international beauty contest for girls with disabilities, something like disability- «Miss World." It turned out that the winner of this competition was Russian Ksenia Bezuglova.

Naturally, we could not pass by this event, and today one of the most beautiful women on the planet, Xenia Bezuglova - the heroine of the special project "There are no excuses."

- Hi, Ksenia! Good to see you in our special projects. Thank you for taking the time to talk.

- Hi, Nastya. I am pleased to answer your questions.

- The first of them already traditional - tell us about your childhood.

- I was born in the town of Leninsk-Kuznetsky (Kemerovo region). But life there I do not remember since when I was a baby, I was 1 year old, my parents moved in Primorye. Mom and Dad, geologists, and they wanted to live in a more interesting place. Therefore, his entire adult life to 23 years, I have lived in the city of Vladivostok.

- Where have you studied and generally what worked in Vladivostok?

- Like all first went to school, and the school went to the theater club and attended drama school puppet theater.

After high school, I went to college. There I met my future husband. We started dating as far back as a student and after graduation married. And immediately flew to Moscow.

- And what's your specialty?

- first education I have the economic, and the second, which I have received in the capital, Plekhanov Academy, more to do with strategic marketing, as after graduation I went to work in the media business.

- Xenia, how did you get in the "category" of people with disabilities?

- an accident.

- What helped not break, to adapt?

- Helped "baggage", accumulated before the injury - a reliable "skeleton" of a strong loving family, trusted friends, proper education and attitude to life. It all gave strength to meet adequately the new life.

Plus at that time I was pregnant. A pregnancy is a condition that is not for a moment does not relax. No time to think about what life has collapsed - only think that you have a baby, he is growing and developing and will soon be born.

- What does not look for any excuses for you?

- No matter what happens in life, it is useless to make excuses and blame something. When in your life something happens, then, anyway, inside you remain with her one on one. It all depends on how you vosprimesh happened. It makes no sense to point fingers, thinking, why all this has happened, for what I do. You just need to take this with dignity and without excuse, to live happily ever after.

- Xenia, how did you get into modeling?

- It happened gradually. Even in Vladivostok, I worked in the field of "gloss", and from time to time I have been invited to various shows and shooting. But I did not think and did not call herself a model, or a model - just called, I was shot.

In Moscow, it began to happen the same. I worked (and work) in a large international publishing house, which is held under the auspices of a lot of different projects. And I sometimes attracted to some of them as a model.

And after all the injury happened in general as something accidentally. First shot for the new advertising model strollers in a rehabilitation center "Overcoming". Then he was invited to participate in the design competition BezgranizCouture. Perhaps it was the first experience of visiting in a wheelchair on the podium in front of a huge number of people and lenses, cameras and camcorders. A year later, I once again take part in this event, and became the face of this international fashion contest for people with disabilities. I support this project because I believe that it is very cool shakes the public, attracting the attention of various influential people and organizations, and persons with disabilities liberating.

- whether complexes were of public speaking? Whether you had to overcome himself?

- Probably not. After all, at that time, when I appeared on the podium, I already had some kind of inner peace. Perhaps I am a little embarrassed, but when I saw the reaction of the audience, I realized that all is well.

In general, a stupor in front of healthy people passes gradually. Complexes disappear as socialization and self-realization. It's an inner sense of self, who you feel: disabled, who sits at someone in the neck, or a person able to help other people. If you constantly communicate with people and do something for them, all the fears gradually disappear.

And to me self-confidence did not come immediately. The first appearance in public seemed to me that the whole world is looking at me, and now I even paid for it do not pay.

Now I watch my friends and acquaintances wheelchair and see that they, too, get rid of their complexes that emerge from his shell and some time are in an unfamiliar environment. In fact, when we first come to college, we are also all fear, and already know everything and nothing surprised a year later. Therefore, the main mistake people after the injury that they for years (!) Sit in their apartments. I always advise everyone: go to the theater, go to a cafe, visit public places, do not waste time, do not sit at home.

Number 7 - is the number 1!

- Xenia, tell us about Modelle & Rotelle competition? How did you become the "Miss World"?

- Modelle & Rotelle - an international competition for high podium fashion and beauty contest for women in wheelchairs. International organizations of persons with disabilities equate this competition to the "Miss World", as it is currently the only international competition for girls with disabilities. It conceived and organized Bortochioni Fabrizio, director of Vertical AlaRoma, himself a wheelchair, so understands how difficult and important to a girl in a position to feel beautiful. Therefore Modelle & Rotelle - yet more fashion contest. It is no coincidence that it takes place in Italy - the country that gave the world high fashion.

The contest was organized at a very high level. It takes place in three stages, three outputs: quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. After each stage member are eliminated at the end remains 5 girls, among which the winner is selected. I came out at number 7. The jury consists of representatives of international non-governmental organizations, the Government of Italy, famous couturiers and other distinguished persons.

- How did you get to this contest?

- I do not even know that I will participate in it, and that I was taken away somewhere. I was a long trip abroad, and when I returned, I learned that my friend sent photos and video to the casting. Therefore, on arrival I was just told that we will have to go to Italy, to represent Russia.

I basically do not have long thought. Fund "Independence" (the only organization that helps adults wheelchair users) financed the trip, so I was in Italy, quite unexpectedly.

But for me it was all for fun. You know, often in the press wrote that I have some modeling career there, but really, it all comes as something very spontaneous. There I was told that you need to support Russia, and I went just for the company.

Even my mother did not know what I'm going to this contest. I was even a little ashamed to say you know about this: I have tridtsatnik, and I'm still on beauty contests are leaving. But it turns out and 30 can become a queen. :)

- So you do not aim at the crown?

- Absolutely not. In just a few seconds before I was told that I had won, I was sitting backstage and digging in your phone, and did not even think who it went to the finals.

- What do you feel when you put on the crown?

- I do not believe it! And I did not understand properly. Before going on stage to me leaned over the girl, with whom we worked together, and whispered to me with happy eyes full of tears: «Ksenia, you are queen». I do not believe it. And then I looked - really behind me was empty. Then came the administrator, ordered «Go!», And I flew to the scene.

It is an incomparable feeling when a Russian girl in a dress from Couture gets the crown. It's great! It costs to get to this competition in order to survive, these strong emotions and to see so many beautiful and strong women from all over the world.

Inspiration

- What do you give the title of one of the most beautiful women on the planet?

- Inspire to inspire others. Before that I was just a humble desire to do something for the girls with disabilities. For example, in the center "Overcoming" I came up with "Beauty School". But it was somehow not serious... And now I have the confidence, inner strength.

Although his title I use for the most part only in order to appeal to them to the authorities when their bow for some projects. And it works. Earlier it was possible to fight for many years, and now you need to send a press release and start a movement.

- What are you doing now in terms of work?

- Outdoor activities. I am working on a project for wheelchair users. Some ideas come to my mind, some of my colleagues. For example, we make a great tandem of Artem Moiseenko. Last year we wintered in Phuket and organize a beach for people with disabilities. The fact that Thailand's beaches are completely adapted for disabled bathing. We have a meeting with the provincial governor, held it received official approval and enlist his support. Phuket is now available for people with disabilities.

Then I get to organize the same in Moscow. After all, we also have wonderful beaches in the forest areas, including approved Rospotrebnadzor. I developed the project, submitted it to the Government of Moscow. It received the support of the prefect of the northern district - now the beach "left bank" is available for the disabled.

But the most important thing - I want to organize all-Russian beauty contest for girls with disabilities. Now all efforts are directed there. It would be desirable that such emotion and such a change in my life that I experienced, and got other girls.

- When will the contest?

- like this year, but it is impossible. It seems like everyone and the project and the government supports, but, apparently, affects global financial crisis, which is now spoken by all. I hope that, all implemented in the future.

- What are the selection criteria for the contestants?

- It's a difficult question. It is difficult to somehow "judge" the woman who was in a difficult situation. But I think that should be all the same age limit. In addition, she should be more or less shape.

- Do you think that in this case apply generally accepted standards of beauty?

- Of course applicable. I think we should set an example that a girl in a wheelchair can stay in shape.

I can not say that I just stay skinny. The wheelchair is much more complicated than a healthy woman. Fitness is becoming a serious burden. I have my own coach, its main task - to put me on my feet, but from the enormous effort that has to make, and cubes appear on the abdomen.

Of course, easier to grow a belly and plump because a sedentary lifestyle. But you need to keep yourself in shape.

Therefore, the applicable standards of beauty for women in wheelchairs. I'm not saying that there will be very strict selection - 90h60h90, but the figure followed, always in sight.

- Xenia, and that helps you to look so stunning?

- Love. When you love yourself, peace, love my husband and want to be the best, you can always find the means to do so.

- What do you dream about?

- Of course, I dream to get to his feet. My dream is to have another child. My dream is to live somewhere by the sea, because I grew up by the sea and pulls me to him.

But, when you are engaged in social activities, it becomes difficult to separate the personal dreams and "public". So I really want to throughout our country to change the situation for people with disabilities, at least at the same level as in Moscow.

After all, people are still years of sitting in the four walls. Recently Vladivostok I met a girl who was 7 years did not come out of his apartment. She lived on the 5th floor without elevator, with only one mother, and came into the carriage even at that age, when not managed to acquire a framework of reliable friends. She had no one to help.

When I see this, I can not even something to dream. I want to change the situation, so that in our civilization there was a jump to a new level, so that persons with disabilities can go out to work, have children, drive them to kindergarten and school; that persons with disabilities are full members of the society and the people did not fear before them.

- I wish that whatever happens in life, never and would never seek no excuses. As little as possible excuses. Disaster struck? Yes, sometimes. But maybe this is not the end but only the beginning?
