"For the business!" Or why we know everything, but do not do?

There are things that we know, but for some reason do not. We know that we should go to the gym and eat less fast food, go to bed earlier and get rid of bad habits. But to know and do - it is absolutely different things.
At the same time we understand that we must stop all put off from day to day. We know that it is necessary less sticky on TV or social networks, and, for example, to analyze the shelf with socks or read a new book.
The problem is not knowing. The impasse brings us action.
On the example of a business can be a good look at the gap between "knowing" and "doing." There are companies that are exploring various ways to improve their work, they hire coaches and consultants spend endless seminars each year are launching new growth program... But nothing It is changing. They know that to improve, but do not realize this fact.
Why is the implementation causes these difficulties? how translate knowledge into action? What stops us, what prevents us to overcome this gap between knowledge and action?
Action vs Inaction
No need to be a great scientist or a psychologist to know what prevents us from start to act. It's simple enough:
- Want to lose weight - eat less high-calorie food and move more.
- You want to be healthy - eat vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits and cereals.
- You want to have a good shape - Train.
- Would you like to write a book - write it, dammit!
- Do you want to learn a foreign language or learn to play some instrument - more Practice.
But above all, what we know and must do, we do not. That is what we do instead:
- We read about the various programs and installations.
- We talk a lot about it.
- We postpone important business and do something else.
- We feel guilty for not doing anything, and try not to think about it.
- And finally, we have decided to take action, so again read and speak, read and talk more.
Read - do not do (of course, unless your goal is not to read more). Say - do not do (unless you want to learn how to become a business communication, or Speaker).
Action - is the action. The other is not given.
So, what prevents us to perform this action? Here, too, it's pretty simple.
A small detail that stops the us
Something happens that prevents us from doing what we know. It does not lie on the surface. It is a sort of a mystery. We all have it, but occasionally one of us knows what to do with him, and even worse - recognizes its existence.
It's fear.
Why do not you finish the chapter before the end or not to append a post on his blog, and instead go and check your mail or page on Facebook or Twitter? Because you are afraid of failure. You are afraid that not cope. Are you afraid of the problem, because you do not know where to start.
Why do you eat fried foods, rather than vegetables, for example? You're afraid of change. Afraid of possible inconvenience. You are afraid to look stupid when all your friends are eating fried potatoes and spicy chicken wings, and you crunched the carrot and cabbage.
Why do not you talk to your partner when there are difficulties in your relationship? Are you afraid of being rejected, look stupid or injure their pride?
Why do not you leave those who treat you badly? Are you afraid of loneliness, or to admit that love-it was not? Scares you only one thing that you can look silly when your family and friends know that you are in some ways failed.
We are afraid, and so do the brilliant things to to avoid that scares us so.
We are afraid that not cope with the role of the writer, blogger, teacher, trainer, runner, guitar player, manager, supervisor, mom or dad, in the end, and spontaneously create all sorts wilesIn order to avoid failure. We do not sabotage themselves, and try to help to do what we believe can harm us.
Find ways to avoid this harm - it is not difficult for us. We are ready for everything, and then wonder why we can not do what we have to?! Therefore, to set to work, we need to overcome their fear.

We are going to conquer the fear of performing an action. The only way to do that, oddly enough, to start to take action. Here's the plan... I do not just read it, and do it!
1. Learn by doing. Itself read anything you can not teach. Of course, read - only useful if after reading you start to take action. At the same conversations are not learning. We just keep talking... Start doing something. You can talk in the process. Proceed, and then you will understand: what gaps to fill in where and how you move on.
2. Make a list of your fears. If you have problems with the implementation of the conceived, you're afraid of it. What scares you really? What are you afraid of a blunder? Make a list of your fears. Drawing up a list of fears - is action.
3. Now get rid of their fears. Are you afraid to do gymnastics? Just to be done any exercise for 2 minutes. Only two minutes, and you will be free. 2 minutes of exercise - it's not scary. Avoid learning a foreign language, such as Spanish? Within two minutes, watch a film in Spanish, listen to Spanish music or someone's podcast. Doing something such small portions, you will realize that it's not scary.
4. Think of failure as part of learning. We are terribly afraid to stumble and fail, and take it as cowardice. But this is not the case. Failures - a measure of what we are capable of learning. Mistakes are an integral part of the learning process. If you know something perfectly or do something great, then you simply have nothing to learn. First you have to stumble, then start all over again and finally succeed. Sometimes you will stumble more than once. Error - this is an opportunity. The opportunity to become better.
5. Correct and do more. Act - then make mistakes, learn from your mistakes, correct them and move on. If you stumble on something, find out how to fix it and try again. A new attempt can be better than the last, if not - try to solve the problem a little differently. Try again and again until will not work, and only then can you move to a new stage. Universal plan of action without error does not exist. You have to begin to act and to receive a key skill - the ability to overcome difficulties and to go further.
Fear is not a decisive factor in our lives. It should not dictate how we live. It's just protivnenko voice in my heart, which is trying to control us and to avoid any discomfort. But we can understand and accept the fact that the difficulty is not as scary as they seem at first glance. It's just knowing something new, climbing to new heights, the transition to new levels.
