Take a look at the part of the problem
Sometimes we hear that of a friend or a friend suffered a setback at work or in your personal life. Then over time, turn around the fortunes of failure. And vice versa.
As Yesenin wrote in 1924 in his "Letter to Women":
Face-to-face person can not see.
Large seen from a distance.
Philosophy helps to survive this moment of desperation by the suspension of the event, an impartial view from the side. Many are waiting for a response from the philosophy on global problems of humanity and immutable truths, though they always remind philosophers that philosophy - it is about the search itself (whether its the truth destinations Do), but not about the result.
The word "philosophy" is translated from the Greek as "love of wisdom". Wisdom is not the absolute truth, can be different, varying from time, our internal focus and from their settings.
Do not be afraid of difficulties
Let us turn to the classics. Friedrich Nietzsche wrote a lot about the inner hell and despair into which empties a person. Here, for example, from the essay "On the Genealogy of Morals":
"Anyone who has ever built a new heaven, found the strength for this only in its own hell."
If in our lives, everything went smoothly and smoothly, then there would be no room for growth. Severe situation, losses help us look at the problem differently, we are trying to ignore. It is because of the state of internal hell and starts moving towards qualitative changes.
In fact, each place in their lives difficult moments of doubt, difficulty choice, the interior is open. The main thing - keep in mind that it is normal that without these thoughts a person can not grow. But only if these thoughts do not turn to the postponement of important solutions. In "Thus Spake Zarathustra," Nietzsche writes:
"You have to wear a more chaos to be able to give birth to a dancing star."
So do not forget that the destruction of something old should follow the creation of something new. And in moments of great despair, remember, reaching the bottom, we can only follow up.
trust yourself
Ludwig Wittgenstein, one of the most influential philosophers of the XX century, a young man wrote in his diary:
"Do all the best! More you can do not: and he that abideth in joy. Let others be themselves. After all, others do not support you, and if they would support, then only for a short time. "
This wish of his "secret diary" of 1914-1916, which he led, fighting on the frontline, experiencing terrible hardships and risking their lives every day. But it is important to remember in everyday life: to put soul into their job, to rely only on themselves, and learn to be happy. This is not a figure of speech - "learn to be happy." This really need to learn. And do not forget that we are not able to affect large parts of what is happening in the world, so it should not worry.
But for many centuries before Wittgenstein, St. Augustine wrote:
"Love, and then what you want - do."
For me it is a promise to the fact that you need to trust yourself and your instincts to move forward with kindness in his heart and love of neighbor.
Do not give in to emotions
Modern German philosopher Robert Pfaller, Aesthetics, whose works, unfortunately, has not yet been translated into Russian, writes as follows:
"Under certain conditions, or other coverage is negative qualities are extremely attractive. They are, according to Kant, is a welcome development, with satisfaction, directed "to the detriment of all the senses". "
It is important to remember this as a warning. Indeed, not all is not gold that glitters. And it does not always justify the confidence of his first strong emotions. When the wave subside, and the peace of the storm settles, we understand that the veil of emotion did not hear themselves and their intuition.
Therefore, it is important to remember that our perception of the situation, especially the very first thing may strike us. Our feelings can seriously distort the picture of reality. Do not forget that sometimes you need to give yourself time to make an informed decision.
be brave
The most prominent of the XX century philosopher Hannah Arendt once expressed a very vital point I correlated with all the above, and which sum up:
"To preserve the authority of the need for respect to the appropriate person or institution. Therefore, the greatest authority of the enemy - this contempt, and the surest way to undermine the authority of - laughter. "
This idea is important in the perspective of what I have already said: the human subjective perception is subject to many errors, we are not perfect. So do not forget to occasionally change the angle of view on the world, to climb against the rules for tables and desks, as advised by his disciples hero Robin Williams in the movie "Dead Poets Society".
What would you say to yourself about this situation, being older than one year, five years, ten? Will it matter then? Some authorities fail, someone's opinion will cease to be vital for us simply because we become more experienced, mature and fearless. But let this thought will bring you to an empty self-satisfaction! Remember that laughter, including laughing at themselves - this is before anything back many hardships.
