Thing of the day: Hydrofoiler XE-1 - electric bike on the hydrofoil

Motor boats, jet skis - the majority of land transport has water counterparts. The only transport that does not have a version for swimming - elektrobayk. Manta5 company has decided to rectify the situation and provided an analogue overland bike, allowing to move through the water, turning the pedal, or by using an electric motor.

Hydrofoiler XE-1 has a classical structure with the use of hydrofoils, retaining transportation afloat, and a screw driven by pedals or a 400-watt motor. Bike assembled on an aluminum frame with the parts of carbon fiber, which provides low weight and sufficient strength. He has no body in the usual sense, but it is held on the water, even at rest.

As with land-based electric bike with Hydrofoiler XE-1 can be used for traffic only pedal, turn the engine assistance or to move solely on electric traction. Bike accelerates to 20 km / hour and can run for more than an hour on a single charge.

Hydrofoiler XE-1 weighs 20 kg and due to the modular design, can be partially disassembled for transportation. Bike fit in the trunk of passenger cars, but not all. You can ride both in freshwater and in saltwater. Maximum load capacity - 100 kg.

Now Hydrofoiler XE-1 in the prototype stage, the launch of series production is planned for next year. Price yet unknown.
